BREADCRUMB

Sharing Our Stories

Hear from our learning community who share their thoughts on leading, learning and playing at Somerset Elementary School.

John K, Somerset Parent

Three of my children attend Somerset (Kindergarten, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade), and we are truly grateful to be part of such a remarkable community. Somerset stands out for its academic excellence, global diversity, and welcoming spirit—it genuinely feels like an extension of our home. The teachers take time to understand and support each of my children individually, helping them achieve both academic and personal goals. Backed by a dedicated teaching staff, a robust curriculum, and parents who deeply care about their children, school, and community, Somerset offers far more than just education. Somerset provides the foundation for the future leaders of our community and our world.

Ana H, Somerset Parent

I feel exceptionally fortunate that my children have attended Somerset Elementary. We have had amazing teachers who were invested in my children’s emotional and educational growth. The teachers, administrators and staff partner with me to strive for the best education for my children.

Brittany M, Somerset Parent

We were nervous about my daughter's transition to kindergarten, but we have been so amazed by Somerset's supportive staff and welcoming atmosphere. I volunteered in my daughter’s classroom a few times and saw how wonderful her teacher was with each and everyone one of the students. She is incredibly patient and loving to each child in the class and does such a great job of including all the kids in the learning and making sure kids get the specific help/attention they need. I could not be more grateful for her teacher and the wonderful experience my daughter has had at school.

Mariana, Kindergarten Student

I like to play outside and play toys with my friends and read books at the library and sing at music. I like to do work in class and play choice time.

Anabelle, 3rd Grade Student

There are great teachers and principals at Somerset. I belong at Somerset! I love to play and talk with my friends.

Deepa Patten, BSD Parent and Bellevue Schools Foundation Trustee

Watching kindergarteners use basic programming skills to move robots is an experience that you can only get in the Bellevue School District. The high-quality educational opportunities that our students have access to is only possible through the support of the community. The Bellevue Schools Foundation has been the key community partner to fund educational innovation in a way you can't find anywhere else in the state, so our students learn the skills to be 21st century thinkers starting in preschool.
